Azerbaijan imports sugar from far abroad

In January-August 2010, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $2.77 billion or 68.87 percent of the total amount of the country's import from the CIS countries compared to the same period of 2009, the State Customs Committee said.

In January-August 2010, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $2.77 billion or 68.87 percent of the total amount of the country's import from the CIS countries compared to the same period of 2009, the State Customs Committee said.

Sugar and sugar confectionery (4.06 percent of total import), vehicles (9.75 percent), electrical machinery and equipment (22.96 percent) ferrous metallurgy products (8.67 percent) and etc were imported to Azerbaijan from CIS countries.

The amount of export of Azerbaijani goods to CIS countries hit $12,645 billion (90.65 percent of total export).

Mineral fuels, oil products, bituminous minerals (98 percent of total exports), vegetables (3.18 percent), animal and vegetable fats (10.25 percent), ferrous materials (0.41 percent), natural and artificial pearls, precious and semiprecious stones, precious metals and base metals coated with precious metals, jewelry, coins (0.37 percent), polymer materials and products (0.29 percent), sugar and confectionery products (0.15 percent).

There is black ink worth $9,875 million with CIS countries on import-export transactions.
