Azerbaijani parliament to consider bill "On cooperative system in agriculture"
Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 23 / Trend M.Aliyev /
The Azerbaijani Parliamentary Agricultural Policy Committee will submit a bill "On cooperative system in agriculture" to the parliament for the first reading in the autumn session, Committee Chairman Eldar Ibrahimov said at a meeting today.
The committee meeting noted that the bill is aimed at production of competitive agricultural products, preservation of the internal market and improvement of the social and financial status of cooperative enterprises.
The bill requires the allocation of funds through the state budget for cooperative enterprises to support their products' export to foreign markets.
Under the bill, municipalities would provide usable land from their portfolios for cooperative enterprises and organize a cooperative market for them.
"The adoption of the law will help to create a competitive environment in the agricultural products market and prevent the artificial raising of prices for these products," Ibrahimov said.
