Municipal transport fares will increase to 50 tetri from today. The decision was made at a Tbilisi Sakrebulo meeting.
Thirty MPs voted in favor of the decision, while nine voted against.
According to the head of the Tbilisi transport company, Levan Koplatadze, fares will not increase for 580,000 socially unprotected individuals in the city.
The increase was supported by the majority of the Sakrebulo. The authorities explained the decision with increased fuel prices.
