In the third quarter of 2010, Georgia's GDP grew by 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year, National Statistics Service Head Zaza Chelidze said.
The GDP index amounted to 5 394.8 million lari in value terms, which is 17.5 percent higher than last year.
GDP per capita amounted to 1,216 lari in the third quarter of 2010.
During January-September, Chelidze saud, GDP grew by 6.5 percent.
The sectors which had posted double-digit increases in the third quarter included processing industry (18.3 percent), catering service (15.7 percent), transport (13.9 percent), financing (12.2 percent) and trade (11.7 percent), he said.
Compared with 2009, a growth of 6.7 percent is already pretty fast. Last year, the South Caucasus country registered a minus 4.9- percent growth.
The growth was recorded on sectors of the provision of community, social and personal services, real estate, construction, mining, education, social protection, telecommunications and others.
