The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry announced results of operations for 2010 of the top ten insurance companies. Some 77.81 percent of the total insurance charges and 77.61 percent of total payments fall to them. About 27 insurance companies operated in Azerbaijan that period and one reinsurance company.

Only state insurance company in the country AzerSigorta led the top-10 of Azerbaijani insurance companies.
Over the last month Pasa Sigorta ranked the fourth position due to increase in insurance charges of the company at 11.9 percent, or 1.39 million manat. Accordingly, Azal Sigorta insurance company has ranked the fifth position, although the charges of the company increased by 3.15 percent.
The total amount of premiums of the all insurance companies hits 155.59 million manat and payments hit 53.83 million manat. The insurance charges fell by 4.73 percent (163.31 million) and payments - by 1.43 percent (53.07 million manat).
The report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance in January-November has not indicated the results of the only reinsurance company Az RE.
