Turkmenistan plans to put into exploitation social and production appointment facilities in 2011 with a total value of roughly $7 billion, an official Turkmen source told Trend.
As many as 120 facilities were built last year with a total value of $4.8 billion, including a gas turbine power station in the Avaza Resort on the Caspian Sea and an international airport in Turkmenbashi.
Top European and Asian construction companies are actively attracted to the construction sector. Local companies are frequently participating in tenders. The international exhibition "Turkmen Construction-2011" will be held at an exhibition center in Ashgabat from Aug. 25 to 27.
The construction complex has the lion's share in the total volume of investments envisaged in the national program. It exceeds 9 percent in 2011 and will reach 15 percent in 2015. It will enable the consolidation of the capacities of existing construction and assembly organizations, as well as construction materials and construction enterprises.
In the program's first phase in 2011-2015, investments will be directed toward the development of the construction complex in the amount of over 19 billion manat.
Based on the local raw base, a new construction materials complex will be constructed, and previous enterprises will be refurbished, covering cement, imbrex, asbestos pipes, ferroconcrete items, hardware, windows, aluminum window blocs, paints, sanitary ware, gypsum, and finish.
Cement plants will also be built in the Akhalsk, Balaken and Lepapsk regions, as well as a glass plant in the Akhalsk region and a ceramic slab and watertight dry mixture plant in Ashgabat.
In the short-term prospect, small paintwork materials production enterprises will be built in Ashgabat, Balkanabat and Serdar, a dry construction materials production plant will be constructed in the city of Magdanli in the Lebapsk region, and a imbrex manufacturing plant will be built in the town of Baharli in the Akhalsk region.
Major tasks for Turkmenistan include consolidating construction organizations and creating competitive construction firms and enterprises for the production of construction materials based on private and corporate property, as well as training personnel for the construction complex and the development of the secondary production field (industry and agricultural wastes).
