One of the major tasks in 2011 for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes is to promote cashless payments, Tax Minister Fazil Mammadov said at an event on tax reforms, serving economic development dedicated to the professional holiday of employees of the tax service.

"This year the work will be carried out to minimize the payment of taxes and duties in a non-banking system," minister said.

A joint working group of employees of the Tax Ministry and the Central Bank was created to promote cashless payments.

It will develop proposals to increase non-cash payments in trade.

The tax benefits for taxpayers who have created opportunities for goods and services by means of plastic cards, as well as stimulating the lottery for buyers, can be among the measures to promote cashless payments in the country.

Stimulation of non-cash calculations will help to improve transparency and develop the banking sector.
