Azerbaijani Transport Ministry completes work within construction of first Baku ring road

The construction of the remaining section of the first Baku ring road will be completed within several months, Azerbaijani Transport Ministry's JSC Azeryolservis head Javid Gurbanov said on Tuesday.

"The construction of the remaining 4-4.5 kilometer of the road will be completed in the coming months," Gurbanov said.

The length of road is 21 kilometer, 16-km section has already been commissioned.

As Gurbanov said earlier, this project, prepared in 1996, has been realized for a long time - over four years. During this period it has changed. A decision was made to expand the road from four-lane to six-lane.

Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport signed a contract with Turkish Mak Yol for the construction of Baku's ring road No 1. The contract is worth $51 million.
