Drivers to pay fines via POS terminals in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 4 / Trend /
The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) and the State Traffic Police Department of the Interior Ministry decided to begin working to install wireless POS-terminals at the posts and patrol cars, IBA said.

About 20 terminals have been installed. The drivers, who violated the traffic rules, will pay fines on the spot. The fines are accepted only on one article, i.e, fines up to 20 manat. A system of paying all the fines through POS-terminals will be created in the future, namely in two weeks. It will be much more convenient for both inspectors and drivers to use the system.

"We are working in this regard. IBA will provide necessary assistance, including financial support. A subsidiary of the bank - AzeriCard processing company assumed technical and program support", IBA said.

IBA and AzeriCard plan to commission the required number of terminals and provide all the posts and patrol cars with POS-terminals within two weeks.

From now on, the drivers will pay fines on the spot, directly in the police cars and get receipts. POS-terminal gives two copies of summonses, one of which will be given to the driver and the other original of the receipt will be attached to an administrative protocol.
"Customers of our bank, who paid the fine this way, think that this innovation will greatly simplify this procedure. This is the easy method of payment, " IBA said.

A driver violating the traffic rules must have a bank card.
