Inflation in Kazakhstan hit 0.5 percent in May 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency said on Thursday.

Inflation in Kazakhstan hit 0.5 percent in May 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency said on Thursday.
According to the agency, prices for food and non-food products last month increased by 0.6 percent, paid services - 0.3 percent.
Last month price increase was observed for bread and grain products by 0.9 percent, cereals - by 5.3 percent, flour - 1.3 percent, pasta - one percent, bakery and pastry products - 0.4 percent, bread - 0.3 percent. Price rise for meat and poultry hit 1.7 percent, potatoes - one percent, confectionery products - 0.6 percent, cheese and cottage cheese - 0.5 percent, butter and fats, sugar - by 0.4 percent. Fruits and fresh vegetables fell by 0.3 percent, raw milk - by two percent, and eggs - by 2.6 percent.
Prices for pharmaceutical products, detergents and cleaning products rose by 0.1 percent, clothing and footwear - 0.2 percent, cement - 1.5 percent, liquefied gas - 1.8 percent. Gasoline prices rose by 5.1 percent, while diesel fuel - 5.5 percent.
Services at restaurants and hotel business grew by 0.3 percent, health - 0.4 percent, hairdressing services - by 0.8 percent, pre-school education - 1.9 percent, long distance railway passenger transportation services - by 3.8 percent.

Tariffs for the maintenance of housing rose by 0.3 percent, garbage collection - 0.4 percent, gas, transported through the distribution network - 0.7 percent.
