Turkmenistan to hold meeting of heads of Caspian Sea ports

It is planned to hold a regular five-party meeting of leaders of the seaports of the Caspian countries in the city of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) in the nearest future, "Turkmenistan" national TV channel said.
The Caspian Sea washes the coast of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkmenistan.
The upcoming forum is expected to focus on increasing the turnover between the Caspian ports, maritime security, drawing investments and developing the potential of ports in the Caspian Sea.
"This meeting provides an opportunity to show the achievements of Turkmenistan in the field of maritime transport and port infrastructure, as well as to adopt the most valuable and useful experience of neighboring countries in this sphere," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a governmental meeting.
He said that the sea port in Turkmenbashi city strengthens its positions as an important center of international water transport.
