International rating agency Standard & Poor's confirmed anew long-term and short-term credit ratings В/В with Stable forecast for the National Bank of Uzbekistan, the agency said.
S&P awarded the rating for the National Bank in August 2009 and confirmed them in October 2010.
The rating was confirmed based on study of the bank's current activity, strategic direction of its activities and results of 2010 . Furthermore, state support to the National Bank due to its exclusively important role is regarded as highly important, the agency's analysts believe .
The National Bank is one of the largest in Uzbekistan's banking system . It includes 14 territorial, 185 regional and city branches, 270 mini-banks and over 3,000 departments and savings banks. The bank serves 30 ,000 legal entities and 9,000 individuals.
