The grape harvesting season begins in Georgia. "Rebi Gurjaani" will begin coordinating rtveli (grape gathering) in the city of Gurjaani. As the Kakheti Governor Giorgi Gviniashvili told journalists, the headquarters will be working around the clock, and farmers will receive information about where the grapes will be collected.

"If the clear weather continues, then rtveli will begin in several days", he said.

This year, the government allocated 10 million lari ($1 = 1.64 lari) in subsidies to fund rtveli.
This year the grape harvest in Georgia is expected to reach 120,000 tons. The government is ready to pay farmers between 15 to 25 lari (1 / 100 lari) for white grapes, and 40 tetri per kilogram for black grapes.
