Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 29 / Trend, A. Akhundov, E. Ismayilov /
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have signed a protocol during the latest meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
The meeting was chaired by Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev and Kazakh Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sauat Mynbayev in Baku on Thursday.
The committee meeting stressed that certain work was done to further develop bilateral cooperation during the period between the last governmental meeting held on Nov. 4, 2010 and today's meeting.
Joint projects were implemented in accordance with the agreements.
Aliyev said trade turnover between the two countries is not satisfactory. The figure was over $ 340 million as of last year and about $ 150 million as of the first half of 2011. At present, Azerbaijan's import to Kazakhstan dominates export, he said.
"Despite this, Azerbaijani and Kazakh sides have every opportunity to further increase bilateral trade turnover," Aliyev said.
