Iran-S Korea trade hits $10 billion in H1

South Korean Ambassador to Iran Park Jae-hyun says trade transactions between Tehran and Seoul have reached USD 10 billion in the first half of 2011, Press TV reported.

Last year, the [total] volume of trade between Iran and South Korea was $12 billion, Park said on Wednesday.

He also said that the South Korean government attaches special importance to the Iranian market and is determined to broaden its economic and trade relations with the Islamic Republic, IRNA reported.

The South Korean envoy said Iran is the fourth oil exporter to Seoul, describing the continuation and strengthening of this cooperation as one of the priorities of his government.

He also said that his country plans to ease visa requirements for those Iranian traders who repeatedly travel to South Korea.

In 2009, Tehran-Seoul trade volume stood at USD 17 billion and in the first five months of 2010, the two country's bilateral trade volume reached USD 6 billion.
