The Senate (the upper house) of Kazakhstan's parliament ratified an agreement for the Customs Union states to operate in the multilateral trading system at a plenary meeting on Thursday.

The Senate (the upper house) of Kazakhstan's parliament ratified an agreement for the Customs Union states to operate in the multilateral trading system at a plenary meeting on Thursday. The relevant law was passed to the president for signing, Itar-Tass reported.

"Under the treaty the Customs Union states on the fundamental principles of the accession of the Customs Union states in the World Trade Organization (WTO), outline the measures, which the Customs Union states should take to meet their commitments under their WTO membership," Kazakh Minister of Economic Integration Zhanar Aitzhanova elaborated.

"The treaty envisages the correlation of rules and regulations, which the WTO and Customs Union formulated, and the procedure to negotiate the actions of the Customs Union states when taking WTO commitments," the minister underlined.
