Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov has dismissed Timur Kulibayev, head of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund.
"I dismissed Kulibayev" Masimov wrote on his microblog on Twitter.
He said Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeev has been appointed as head of the Samruk-Kazina National Welfare Fund.
Moreover, Shukeev heads the commission on Zhanaozen city hit by mass riots.
Samruk-Kazina was created to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the Kazakh economy and forestall possible negative influence of changes in world markets on economic growth in the country. The Fund's main goal is management of shares (stakes) of the national development institutions, national companies and other entities to increase their long-term value and competitiveness in world markets.
