Kazakhstan, Qatar discuss prospects of trade, energy and religious cooperation

Kazakh and Qatari top officials and representatives of private business discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade, energy and religious spheres, within the visit of Kazakh delegation headed by President's Aide Nurlan Yermekbayev to Qatar on Jan. 22, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.

"The meeting focused on trade, economic and religious cooperation and the prospects of Qatari investments in Kazakhstan's petrochemical, agricultural and banking sectors," the Ministry said.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan and Qatar discussed the topical international issues, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.

Within the visit the Kazakh delegation met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and handed him the Kazakh President's invitation to the 4th Congress of World and Traditional Religions which will take place in Kazakhstan in May 2012. Qatar's monarch confirmed his participation in the event.
