Iran's budget predicts $85 per barrel of oil

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that his government's budget used $85 as the price per barrel of oil in its calculations, the website Econews.ir reported.

Mr. Ahmadinejad submitted his proposed budget for next year (Iran's solar year ends on March 21) to Iran's Majlis (paliament). He added that the dollar's value was set at 11,500 rials in the document.

At this time, the Iranian Central Bank has set the dollar's value at 12,260 rials and the currency is sold for more than 18,000 rials on the black market.

The president said the budget for next year was approximately $510 billion, $2 billion more than last year's. Of this sum approximately $400 billion falls to the state companies.
