Uzbek bank ups assets by third in 2011

The Asaka Bank ranks second in terms of the main bank indices in the Uzbek banking system. It increased its assets by 30.9 percent to 3.532 trillion soums in 2011 compared to 2010, the bank said today.

According to the bank, the share of income-producing assets in their total structure increased from 57.67 percent as of 2010 to 69.57 percent as of late 2011.

The share of credit investments increased from 42.02 percent to 44.97 percent.

The volume increased by 34.9 percent by 1.588 trillion soums in 2011.

Asaka's interbank assets decreased by 7.09 percent over the same period of last year to 11.68 percent of the bank's income-producing assets at the end of 2011. The investment securities amount decreased by 5.34 percent to 3.66 percent of the bank's assets.

The banking capital increased by 20.1 percent and hit 488.7 billion soums as of early 2012. Authorized capital increased by 9.79 percent to 343.1 billion soums.

Asaka was founded in 1996 and was mainly involved in lending for the automotive industry.

The official exchange rate is 1811.86 soums per $1 on Feb. 6.
