The Austrian Agency for European Integration and Economic Development has allocated 900,000 euro for a regional tourism development project in Georgia. The EU Tourism Sector Support Project was presented in Tbilisi today.

The event was opened by Georgian National Tourism Agency head Maia Sidamonidze.

She said the National Tourism Administration is launching a project to develop tourism at the regional level.

The entire management team from the Austrian side attended the event.

It will implement the project. The team's representatives said Georgia has great potential for tourism development in the regions. This potential should be fully used to attract foreign tourists.

Private sector and international organization representatives involved in the tourism industry also attended the event.

The key project areas were considered during the presentation. They include improving the legal system and preparing the project.
