In January-March 2012 the foreign trade turnover of Georgia amounted to $2.244 billion, or 17 per cent more compared to the same period last year, the Georgian National Statistics Office told Trend on Tuesday.
According to the information, exports amounted to $ 539 million (an increase of 16 per cent) and imports were $1.706 billion (17 per cent more).
The trade deficit of Georgia was $ 1.167 billion, accounting for 52 per cent of total foreign trade turnover.
