Kazakhstan has exported 10.6 million tons of grain in the current marketing year, the Agriculture Ministry in Kazakhstan said on Tuesday.
"In the current marketing year, as of May 24, Kazakhstan shipped about 10.6 million tons of grain taking into account flour in grain equivalent to export. This indicator is a record," the ministry stated.
According to the Ministry 8.9 million tons of grain has been shipped in 2007-2008 marketing year, which is 19 percent less than in the current year.
"During the period from September 2011 to May this year, the monthly shipments exceeded one million tons. Another 4.4 million tons of grain is left to be shipped to realize the export potential of 15 million tons," stated in the press release.
