Azerbaijan and Turkey intend to carry out joint economic cooperation in third countries, Turkish Ministry of Economy Zafer Caglayan said at a press conference in Baku on Tuesday.

Today, Baku hosted the second meeting of economic ministers of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic states, which discusses the status and prospects for expanding cooperation.

Caglayan noted that this issue was discussed at his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held in Baku on Tuesday.

"In addition, at the meeting, we discussed the signing of a bilateral agreement on trade and agreed to work together to develop it," Caglayan said.

He added that mutual investment between the two countries reached $15 billion.

"The growth of trade between the two countries by 10 times during the past 10 years is substantial, but insufficient," Caglayan said.

The Minister also stressed the importance of such issues as the development of relations between the regions of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the promotion of trade in national currencies, mutual support of entrepreneurs in both countries.
