ADB conducted a workshop on procurement of works and services for ADB-funded projects, the bank said.
The seminar, which was held on August 27-28, was attended by experts of local government structures, such as JSC Azerenergy JSC Azeryolservis, the State Committee for Land Reclamation and Water Resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The purpose of state agencies that participated in the workshop was to enhance the experience in tender procedures, the report said.
A broad range of procurement issues were discussed in the workshop including practical aspects on procurement in each project and general procurement issues in ADB financed projects such as managing procurement process, bid evaluation and award of contract, contract management and performance evaluation, procuring theservices of a consulting firm, role of consultants, and the procurement role and responsibilities of executing agencies.
Azerbaijan is a member of ADB since 1999.
