A new state corporation will be created in Kazakhstan to hold the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana, the PM's official website said today.
"Creting a public corporation with the Kazakh relevant departments will be the next step to prepare Astana for holding exhibition EXPO-2017," a statement said. "It is planned to conduct an expanded meeting with all Kazakh interested state bodies in mid-January 2013."
Roughly 250 million euro will be allocated from the budget to build the infrastructure. It is planned to raise about 1 billion euro to build pavilions and hotels.
Kazakhstan's capital became the first city in Central Asia and the CIS, which will host the international exhibition. The theme is "Energy of the Future."
