Over 8,000 auctions on municipal land sale held in Azerbaijan for five years

In 2012, the Azerbaijani State Committee for Land and Cartography organized 2,092 auctions and contests on various municipalities of the country in 2012. Over 8,000 have been organized since 2008, chairman of the committee Garib Mammadov said at an expanded meeting on Friday.
He said that in 2012, 56.9 percent (or 4,913,639 hectares) of 8,641,506 hectares of the Azerbaijani land fund remained as the state property, 23.5 percent (or 2,032,744 hectares) - were transferred to the municipal property and 19.6 percent (or 1,695,123 hectares) - were privatized.
"In 2012, the committee worked to prepare technical documents for land owned by the three municipalities," he said. "It also prepared technical documents for land of 19 municipalities and new maps of 504 united municipalities."
He said that in 2012, technical documents of plots near the buildings of 1,282 families were prepared in a complex order in 19 residential areas and documents for the lands of private houses and gardens of 23,607 citizens on an individual basis.
