Azerbaijan, Baku, May 14 / Trend A. Akhundov /
There is a need for Azerbaijan to adopt national standards for producing and using concrete and its components, head of the main examination department of the State Construction Safety Supervision Agency under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations Latif Zeynalov said at the third international conference on 'Place of reinforced concrete in modern construction' in Baku today.
He said that there are a number of problems and challenges in using concrete and reinforced concrete structures in Azerbaijan.
"Firstly, there is a shortage of staff," he said. "Today, we must learn from Europe, the US and Japan, in this area. It is necessary to create technical documentation in the Azerbaijani language. Human resources are required. The second objective is to attract new technologies to the country, but the process must be deliberate and targeted. Thirdly, it is necessary to create a research centre."
He said it is necessary to pay special attention to a more economical use of high-quality concrete. This can be achieved by improving the calculations. It is necessary to widely use lightweight concrete (clay) which will reduce costs and seismic risks.
The event organised by the BASF Caspian Yapi Kimyasallari Sanayi LLC plant, is dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
