Azerbaijan’s Compulsory Insurance Bureau pays $34,000 worth of compensation

Azerbaijan's Compulsory Insurance Bureau has made its tenth compensation payment, the bureau told Trend on Monday.

According to the report, compensation worth 5000 manat was paid on May 17 to the family of a person who died in a road accident on Z.Buniyadov Prospect in Baku. The compensation payment was made by means of transfer (by mail).

The total amount of compensations paid out so far by the bureau amounts to 26,690 manat.

Affected individuals may apply for compensation to the Compulsory Insurance Bureau in the following cases:

- If the damage to health was caused by an unknown motor vehicle;

- If the damage to health of the third party was caused as a result of the use of a motor vehicle by a person without any agreement on compulsory insurance of civil liability, provided that the claim for damages has not been satisfied by the culprit of an accident.

The Compulsory Insurance Bureau has been operating since December 2011.

The official exchange rate on May 20 is 0.7847 AZN / USD.
