Kazakhstan, Astana, June 20 / Trend D.Mukhtarov /

The bitumen produced at Omsk refinery was deemed unsuitable for the construction of highways in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the country reported on Thursday.

The specialists of JSC 'KazdorNII' conducted tests of asphalt bitumen samples of major manufacturers and suppliers of these products on the market.

According to the research it became clear that the Omsk refinery bitumen has a low resistance to rut formation. There are also results which indicate non-standard behavior of the asphalt concrete, namely the specified bitumen forms a film on the rut surface.

The results of tests of products have already been sent to the manufacturer.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications also sent to the subdivisions of the Committee of roads, RSV'Kazakhavtodor', contractors and governorates of provinces and cities, a letter on the temporary suspension of the use of the bitumen of Omsk refinery in the construction and repair of roads in Kazakhstan.
