Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia reaches $1 billion

In January-September 2013, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia amounted to $958.02 million, or 12.6 percent of total foreign trade turnover of Georgia, Gruzstat (the National Statistical Service of Georgia) report on foreign trade said.

The trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 1.8 percent compared to the same period last year. For comparison, in January-September 2012, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia amounted to $940.68 million.

Azerbaijan is Georgia's second largest trading partner after Turkey. Georgia's trade turnover with the latter amounted to $1.08 billion in January-September 2013 (14.2 percent). Ukraine ranks the third with $555.79 million share for the reporting period.

Georgia's total foreign trade turnover in January-September 2013 amounted to $7.59 billion, decreasing slightly compared to the same period in 2012.
