USD, Euro rise, pound unchanged in Iran’s free market

U.S. dollar and euro rose compared to Iranian rial today in Iran's free market compared to Saturday, the Mehr News Agency reported.

USD was sold at 30,100 rials, compared to 30,100 rials on Saturday.

Euro was also presented at the prices of 41,000 rials compared to 40,800 rials. But, pound remained unchanged at 48,200 rials.

On July 6, the central bank of Iran on its website listed the price of a dollar at 24,779 rials. That rate replaced the previous official "reference" rate of 12,260 rials to the dollar.

The official exchange rates of U.S. dollar, euro, and pound were announced 24,957 rials, 33,654 rials, and 39,745 rials by Iran's Forex Center today.

Iranian president Hassan Rohani, who succeeded former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said that he seeks to revive Iran's economy by improving relations with the world and seeking relief from economic and financial sanctions.
