The Bushehr nuclear power plant is functioning normally despite a recent earthquake and there is no concern, ISNA quoted Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi as saying on November 29.

The Bushehr nuclear power plant is functioning normally despite a recent earthquake and there is no concern, ISNA quoted Iran's Atomic Energy Agency spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi as saying on November 29.

He rejected any possibility of damage to the plant adding that it continues operation at full capacity.

The plant enjoys high standards in terms of safety against strong earthquakes, he said.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale was felt in all regions of the Iranian province of Bushehr on Nov. 28.

Bushehr Governor Fereidoun Hassanvand said the earthquake killed eight people and injured 60. "Three are in a critical condition while 130 received medical care," Hassanvand said IRINN reported.

He also said the earthquake destroyed and damaged homes of many people.

The earthquake killed many people and many others were wounded. According to our latest data eight were killed and 44 wounded, Chairman of the Iranian administration on crisis situations Hassan Gadami said earlier.
