Kazakhstan Stock Exchange ups volume of trading in 2013

The trading volume on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in all market sectors increased by 16.3 percent (by 13.9 percent in USD) in 2013, KASE reported this week.

KASE trading volumes hit 31.982 trillion tenge (equivalent to $210 billion) in this period.

The volume of trading in the repo market increased 4.9 percent (2.7 percent in USD) to 11.908 trillion tenge ($78.158 billion) in the reporting period.

Volume of corporate debt securities trading increased by 25.2 percent (22.6 percent in USD) to 392.2 billion tenge ($ 2.573 billion).

In turn, volumes of trading in shares decreased by 42.5 percent (44 percent in USD) to 117.5 billion tenge (equivalent to $770.9 million).

The stock exchange also said that foreign currencies trading volumes increased by 28.1 percent (25.5 percent in USD) to 18.353 trillion tenge (equivalent to $120.583 billion).
