Hotels without license not to receive visitors during First European Games
Baku, Azerbaijan, March 12
By Emin Aliyev - Trend:
Hotels without a license will not be able to receive visitors during the 2015 First European games to be held in Azerbaijan, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev told journalists on March 12.
"We regularly conduct monitoring together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), during which the compliance of standards of the services provided in hotels, as well as their observance of all necessary norms including safety are verified," he said.
The owner of the hotels can be and will be punished for abuses in accordance with the legislation and the licenses of such hotels will be revoked, according to Garayev.
Hotel infrastructure continues to develop in Azerbaijan, according to the minister.
The construction of the five-star hotels and hotel complexes continues in the country. At the same time, we received two proposals to establish a network of hostels. However, I think that the tourism infrastructure in Azerbaijan is not ready to take a large mass of holidaymakers looking for very cheap vacation options, according to the minister.
Even local tourists who are in search of a place to rest are strict about conditions in hotels, health standards, nutrition, etc. Compliance with all these conditions in hostels is an important issue. The ministry does not oppose and supports the implementation of similar projects, however does not consider them a priority, Garayev added .
