Azerbaijani housing market sees almost 9% increase in prices

Prices in Azerbaijan's housing market increased by 8.6 percent in January-March, 2014 versus the same period of 2013, according to Azerbaijani Central Bank's (CBA) Q1 monetary policy report.

Throughout this period prices in the secondary and primary markets rose by 8.6 percent and 6.1 percent respectively.

Prices of single-type apartments rose the most in the secondary market (9.8 percent) and at the same time well-designed apartment prices went up the most in the primary market (12.3 percent).

The rental price of living areas increased by 5.7 percent, while the rental price of commercial facilities went up by 5.1 percent, according to the 'MBA LTD' consulting company.

The official exchange rate for May 20 is 0.7844 AZN/USD.
