Several Chinese companies intend to implement six projects on creating textile producing enterprises in Uzbekistan's Jizzakh special industrial zone, a representative of the Uzbeklegprom State JSC told Trend on May 23.
The Chinese companies involved in implementation of these projects are Nan Yang Mulanhu, Henan Sine, Pinmian Co. Ltd and Hebey An Feng Da Group.
The company representative said that the total planned design capacity of the enterprises will be equal to 30 million square meters of cotton fabrics, 13,000 tonnes of knitted fabric and 15 million garments and knitwear per year.
Up to 80 percent of the products will be exported in accordance with the terms of creating the enterprises.
The Jizzakh special industrial zone was created in March 2013, in accordance with Uzbek President Islam Karimov's decree. The purpose of this zone is to create favorable conditions for attracting foreign and national investments to set up modern high-tech industrial facilities.
The Jizzakh special industrial zone will operate for 30 years with the possibility of extension. During this period, a special tax regime and customs privileges will be introduced in this zone.
The Jizzakh zone is the third special economic zone in Uzbekistan. The country's Navoi free industrial and economic zone was created in 2008 and the Angren special industrial zone was established in 2012.
