Germany intends to increase trade turnover with Azerbaijan

Germany is interested in increasing trade turnover with Azerbaijan, director of the Eastern Committee of the German economy, Rainer Lindner told Trend Sept. 3.

"The annual trade turnover between the two countries exceeds $ 2.5 billion," he added.

"In a conversation with Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry, we decided that this potential has not been exhausted," he added. "Therefore, we intend to hold a business forum with the participation of enterprises of the two countries in 2015. At this business forum, we will exchange the views on the spheres of the Azerbaijani economy where German companies can invest."

A German delegation, consisting of the chairman of the board of the German-Azerbaijani forum, former Secretary General of the German central association of crafts, former Secretary of State Hanns-Eberhard Schleyer, Bundestag deputy, head of the "Germany-South Caucasus" parliamentary group Karin Shtrents, chairman of the German-Israeli Society Reinhold Robbe, Secretary General of the German-Azerbaijani forum, former Secretary of State Michael Andreas Butz and executive director of the Eastern Committee of Germany's economy, Rainer Lindner is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

During the visit, the delegation held meetings in several state agencies.
