By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakhstan increased steel production by 20 percent to 2.616 million metric tons in January- August 2014 compared to the same period of 2014, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Statistics Committee under Kazakh National Economy Ministry.
The country increased ferroalloys production by 0.4 percent to 1.122 million metric tones, flat rolled steel production - by 17.6 percent to 1.684 million metric tones and galvanized steel production - by 8.2 percent to 364,500 metric tones in the reporting period.
Kazakhstan's tin and tinned steel sheet production fell by 14.2 percent to 59,000 metric tones in January-August 2014.
