TOP 5 largest importers of Azerbaijani products

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with around 141 countries totaled $23.878 billion in January-September 2014, which is 8.6 percent less than in the same period of 2013, the country's State Customs Committee said in its statistical report.

Azerbaijan's export operations totaled $17.36 billion, while its import operations made $6.522 billion in January-September 2014, according to the report.

The highest amount of the country's export fell to Italy in January-September, 2014; some $4.03 billion worth of products (about 23.22 percent of the total export volume) were exported from Azerbaijan to this country.

The following countries are in the lead in terms of exports from Azerbaijan: Indonesia ($1.87 billion with the specific weight of 10.77 percent), Germany ($1.46 billion or 8.43 percent), Israel ($1.189 billion or 6.85 percent) and France ($1.118 billion or 6.85 percent).

The share of these countries in Azerbaijan's total export volume is 56.12 percent.

The Top 5 countries in terms of the largest import volume in January-September, 2014, included Turkey ($915.46 million), which accounts for some 14.04 percent of Azerbaijan's import, Russia - $897.794 million (13.77 percent), the U.K - $679.175 million (10.41 percent), Germany - $490.672 million (7.52 percent) and China - $466.624 million (7.15 percent).

The specific weight of these countries in Azerbaijan's total import volume is 52.89 percent.

Thus, the main foreign trade partner of Azerbaijan is Italy: the trade turnover with this country made $4.22 billion, or 17.65 percent of the country's total trade operations. Italy is followed by Germany - $1.953 billion (8.18 percent), Indonesia - $1.894 billion (7.93 percent). Russia - $1.368 billion (5.73 percent) and France - $1.305 billion (5.47 percent).

The specific weight of these countries in Azerbaijan's total import volume is 44.96 percent.
