Astana, Kazakhstan, Nov.24
By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:
'Transition period' until January 2015 has been approved in Kazakhstan, the country's Economic Development Ministry said.
Within this period, Russia should bring its alcoholic beverages in conformity with the Customs Union Technical Regulations.
"Importer entrepreneurs should bring the alcoholic beverages in conformity with the Customs Union Technical Regulations on food safety till Jan.1, 2015," the ministry said. "The authorized bodies of Russia and Belarus have been notified about the adopted decision."
The decision on the 'transition period' was adopted after the bilateral Kazakh-Russian technical consultations during which "the Russian side admitted the existing inconsistencies and asked for time to eliminate them."
Kazakhstan banned the sale of some alcoholic beverages produced in Russia on Nov.18, due to non-compliance with food safety.
