Kazakhstan’s insurers reduce collection of premiums in 2014

Kazakhstan's insurance companies reduced the amount of collected premiums in 2014 for the first time in five years, Ranking.kz. analytical service said.

"The volume of the collected insurance premiums in 2014 decreased by five percent - up to 266 billion tenge ($ 1 - 184.45 tenge)," a statement says.

Around 34 insurance companies operate on Kazakhstan's insurance market. Around 11 of them reduced the volume of the collected premiums in 2014, the report said.

Eurasia insurance company was the leader on the annual growth in the volume of insurance premiums in 2014 (the growth of the collected premiums amounted to 6.2 billion tenge). This increased the company's share on the insurance market of Kazakhstan from 9.8 percent in 2013 to 12.5 percent in 2014. The total amount of the premiums collected by the company as of 2014 was 33.4 billion tenge, the statement says.

Kazakhmys insurance company ranked second on the volume of the collected premiums (5.9 billion tenge growth during the year). The insurance company's share on the market increased by 2.5 times from 1.4 percent in 2013 to 3.7 percent in 2014.

Moreover, six more insurance companies of Kazakhstan increased collecting the insurance premiums by more than two billion tenge in 2014.

"Nur Policy" insurance company (from 0.2 percent to 0.8 percent), "Kazakhmys" (from 1.4 percent to 3.7 percent) and "Alliance Policy" (from one to two percent) are in the lead on the share growth rate on the market.
