Volume of real estate property sales in Turkey up

In September 2017, 140,869 real estate properties were sold in Turkey, which is 28.8 percent more compared to the same period of 2016, according to a report of the Turkish Statistical Institute.

The report said that 23,471 properties were sold in Istanbul in September 2017, which accounts for 16.7 percent of total property sales.

The report said that 13,945 properties were sold in Ankara in September 2017, which accounts for 9.7 percent of total property sales.

In the reporting period, 7,575 properties were sold in Izmir, which accounts for 5.4 percent of total property sales, said the report.

In September 2017, 2,236 real estate properties were sold to foreigners in Turkey, which is 75.2 percent more than in September 2016.

Foreigners purchased 797 properties in Istanbul, 520 – in Antalya.

“The remaining 919 real estate properties were sold to foreigners in other provinces of the country,” reads the report.
