The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecasts the GDP growth of Turkmenistan at 5.7 percent for 2017.
According to an updated EBRD report, Turkmenistan's GDP growth will be 5.1 percent in 2018.
Turkmenistan’s GDP growth rate was 6.4 percent in the first 10 months of 2017, according to the officials of the country.
Earlier, the EBRD said the risks for the forecast of economic growth in the countries of Central Asia include the possibility of a sharp decline in the economy of China, a protracted period of low commodity prices, and a possible reduction in prices in Turkmenistan.
According to BP, Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world for its gas reserves. Currently the country exports gas to China and Iran.
