Kazakh ministry talks implementation of joint projects with Turkey (Exclusive)

All of the 26 projects within New Synergy-Joint Economic Program between Kazakhstan and Turkey are on realization stage, Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Larisa Jumagalieva told Trend.

Presently, the projects are at various stages of implementation, according to Jumagalieva.

On September 9, Kazakhstan and Turkey signed the Protocol to the New Synergy Program during the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kazakhstan. The protocol provides for implementation of 26 new investment projects worth $899 million until 2020.

Previously, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the Turkish Industrialists Businesswomen and Businessmen Confederation signed a protocol of intent. Within the protocol, Turkey will invest $5 billion to Kazakhstan.

The sides expressed readiness to facilitate development of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey given their common stance on promotion of trade, industry and investment.

Recently, the two countries have also been linked by the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
