Car production increased by 24 percent to 1.544 million units in Turkey in eleven months of 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016, said Turkey’s Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) in a message Dec. 18.
During the reporting period, car sales in Turkey decreased by 4 percent, according to the message.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Models of Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are currently assembled in Turkey.
Moreover, Turkey manufactures local brands of buses, such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
