Technical regulations on the safety of meat and meat products and the scheme for their introduction have been approved in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources told Trend.
More than 140 kinds of meat and meat products are subject to technical regulations.
Requirements of technical regulations don't cover meat and meat products produced by individuals for personal use, food and biological supplements, medicines and animal feed, as well as food products in which, according to the recipe, the share of regulated meat products does not exceed 5 percent.
In 2017, the production of livestock products increased by 4.2 percent and amounted to 21.1 trillion soums in value terms in Uzbekistan.
