Kazakhstan’s international reserves increase

Kazakhstan's international reserves increased by 1.45 percent in January-Mach 2018 amounting to $90.356 billion, Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Daniyar Akishev said at a briefing, Kazakh media outlets reported.

However, in March 2018, international reserves of the country decreased by 0.005 percent, compared to the previous month.

The gross international reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 0.28 percent in March, amounting to $31.08 billion, and the net international reserves increased by 0.3 percent, amounting to $30.565 billion.

The volume of assets of the National Fund of Kazakhstan, in turn, amounted to $59.276 billion, decreasing by 0.15 percent. The volume of assets in freely convertible currency amounted to $17.882 billion, showing a decrease of 0.45 percent in the previous month. The volume of assets in gold increased by 1.28 percent to $13.198 billion.

"As of April 13, the National Bank's net liquidity withdrawal amounted to 3 trillion tenge. The volume of short-term notes in circulation increased by 30.2 percent since the beginning of the year and amounted to 4.1 trillion tenge. The yield on notes in April 2018 remained in the range of 8.45-8.57 percent," Akishev said.
