Kazakhstan reveals amount of grain reserves

The reserves of grain and leguminous crops in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.1 million tons as of July 1 of this year, the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan said in a message.

The data includes more than 4.5 million tons of wheat, more than 306,000 tons of barley, 9,651 tons of rye, 6,459 tons of oats as of the beginning of July.

Reserves of buckwheat in the country, in turn, amounts to 4,613 tons, millet - 2,592 tons, a mixture of grains - 12,682 tons.

In the first half of 2018 Kazakhstan Railways transported 5.6 million tons of grain, which is 46 percent more, compared to the same period of the previous year.

In June 2018 the company transported over 770,000 tons of grain, which is 30 percent more, compared to June 2017. The share of exported grain amounted to over 540,000 tons, which is 44 percent more year over year.
