Indian company Beta Drugs has signed a memorandum on establishment of production of cancer drugs in Uzbekistan and has established a joint venture with local partners, Gazeta.uz reported.

The joint venture is located in Bekabad, Tashkent Region, and is equipped in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). The volume of production at full capacity will be 72 million tablets and capsules per year. It is also planned to establish production of injectable drugs.

"It is expected that our prices will be competitive, about 20-25 percent cheaper than alternative drugs. We also plan to export our products to international markets," the Whole Time (Marketing and Sales) Director of Beta Drugs Ltd. Rahul Batra said.

Beta Drugs Ltd. is a manufacturer of anticancer drugs with high added value. The company has four plants for production of active substances, parenteral drugs, tablets, capsules and liquids.
